Good effort

All is well in roughly the first minute, my only gripe is the snare that could be louder.
Then suddenly at around 0:55 the song changes and expands on the guitar-esque synth, no warning, no build up, it just does.
Furthermore I feel the chords are out of place, they don't fit with the rest of the song.

I'd either forego the guitar and instead go with a slowly moving set of strings (usually works well in songs like this) or add another layer to the beat, hi-hats or something.

7 and a 4.

Newbiespud responds:

Fair enough. I didn't think it was perfect, and I can't disagree with your criticism. Thanks for your suggestions.

Sexy

I like it, it has this distinct 'credits' feeling. The sound quality is somewhat mediocre though, and I disagree with that snare D:!

But you're really skilled when it comes to drum programming and that really shines here. Even though the lead is largely the same throughout the entire song, the drums are what make the variety here.

Also, take a listen to Hybrid, you might very much like them.

karlsazn responds:

when i made this i didnt have much concern for the sound quality =\ ive thought about revising this into a much cleaner more organized track than having drums kicking from all directions. I appreciate your review, thanks!

"Hell Yeah, Breakcore!"

This is one of those artist defining songs, a magnum opus, a journey through the mind of the musician.
The mixture of traditional orchestral themes and radical, progressive IDM really shows your talent and skills.
You are one of the leading and most innovative artists ever to grace this portal.
Congratulations on this song.

nubbinownz responds:

Thank you so much ! :D That means alot!

Quality

Well, hello there song in the audio top 5.

I like it, it has this retro late nineties early double oh's trance feeling which takes me back to the good old days of Svenson and Gielen and System F.
The breakbeat added is quite a nice touch, though I would've liked to have seen a more smooth transition between the all out dance parts and the slower breakbeats.
Now it sort of explodes into eachother. Which is fine, but you had you taken the opportunity I believe it would've greatly improved the song. I suggest you listen to Hybrid (www.myspace.com/hyb ridsoundsystem). They've got it down big time.

I hope this little review helped in any way. Continue down this road, bro and you'll end up somewhere great.

RenoakRhythm responds:

thanks for the tid bits and info... definitely going to use it.

Your rock!

Liquid cool

Drums are thick and punchy, bass is penetrating my ears but not too obvious and the trance-esque lead gives it a distinct summer feeling.

The drop at 02:15 had my eardrums in liquid nitrogen.

DJ-NOSEBLEED responds:

Thanks!
Haha, liquid nitrogen.
You might want to get that checked out. I don't know how healthy that is.

I may or may not find you sexy, depending on what day it is.
