That's also your problem I believe, you think a lot, too much perhaps even, and it's holding you back.
Whatever you have in your head now about expectations, opinions, prejudice and so on and so forth, dump it now.
All of it. I know it's hard, and believe me when I say 'I know', but do it anyway.

Because all of that doesn't matter: "Will people like this?", "Will they think this doesn't look good?", "Will it be up to their expectations?"
None of it you can put to good use. It's noise, redundant, fluff.

You need to just do it, and see what happens. Inject your thoughts, your skills, everything you can come up with and just go with the flow. Anything that happens as a reaction you can use to improve yourself, based on what you think on the person giving the reaction.

Action -> Reaction -> Feedback -> Action based on feedback.
That's how life works.

So what you should do is just throw everything you've got out there and get all the feedback you can gather.
Do it for yourself. Because your life is all about you. Yes, your family is important, but you shouldn't live for them.
You should live because you love living, because you love doing the things you love to do.
Not because you need to exceed expectations, or because you must conform to a certain image.

Live life to the fullest, learn as much as you can while you can, and spread your knowledge to everyone you know.
Because really, you sure as hell know your stuff. The way you convey my writings into visuals, your motivation and meaning behind your artwork, the sheer inspiration you are. You've said they were 'doodles', but so far everyone who's been on the project and has seen your artwork has been very impressed.

Stop thinking like an adult who has to somehow fit in society, and carve your own way.
You wanted to be an artist? Well, let me tell you something. You ARE an artist. Your work already is far beyond anything I had hoped to have on this project and I feel absolutely blessed and grateful to have you in on this.

I mean, every time you tell me you're working on something I personally can't wait to see what it is.
You've already proven yourself with your craftmanship, you really don't need to anymore. You're already the person you want to be, you just need to see it.

I deeply respect you and your work, your contribution to this project is frankly one of the best things that has happened in my life.
You will go far, I'm sure of it. You just need to let yourself go.
